CeeDee Lamb Has Blunt Response to Jerry Jones’s Update on Contract Extension Talks

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has made his feelings known after team owner Jerry Jones downplayed the urgency of his contract extension. Lamb, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal, is seeking a lucrative long-term contract, but negotiations with the Cowboys have been slow-moving.

Jones previously stated that he did not feel a strong sense of urgency to finalize Lamb’s extension, a comment that sparked backlash from fans and analysts. In response, Lamb took to social media with a short but telling three-letter reaction, seemingly expressing his frustration with the situation

After facing criticism, Jones attempted to clarify his remarks before the Cowboys’ preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams. He emphasized that he greatly values Lamb but also suggested that his comments were taken out of context. He explained that his concern was more about protecting key players from preseason injuries rather than a lack of desire to secure Lamb’s future with the team

Despite Jones’ reassurances, there has been little movement in contract negotiations. The Cowboys have reportedly made an offer, but they are also weighing future deals for linebacker Micah Parsons and quarterback Dak Prescott. Lamb, meanwhile, is believed to be eyeing a contract in the range of Justin Jefferson’s four-year, $140 million deal, which could complicate negotiations

With training camp underway and the regular season approaching, the pressure is mounting for the Cowboys to lock in their star receiver. If no deal is reached soon, Lamb could become a prime candidate for the franchise tag in 2025, or worse for Cowboys fans, he might explore opportunities elsewhere.
