Heartbreak Loss: Four (4) Teenager’s Die as a Result of……

According to preliminary reports from the state police, the accident occurred around 9:45 PM when a sedan carrying five teenagers veered off the road and collided with a tree near Mile Marker 42. Authorities believe the driver, a 17-year-old male, may have been speeding and lost control of the vehicle during a sharp turn.

Emergency services arrived at the scene within minutes, but tragically, four of the five passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. The fifth occupant, who was seated in the front passenger seat, survived the crash but remains in critical condition at Central Regional Hospital.

None of the teens were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Family members and friends have begun gathering at the victims’ school — East Ridge High — where grief counselors have been made available. Vigils are already being planned, with classmates expressing their shock and sorrow on social media using hashtags like #ERHStrong and #GoneTooSoon.

“This is a heartbreaking loss for our entire school community,” said Principal Lisa Hernandez in a press statement early Wednesday morning. “These were bright, promising young lives taken far too soon.”

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, including whether alcohol, distracted driving, or other factors may have contributed to the crash.

As the investigation unfolds, the local community is rallying around the families of the victims, offering support, meals, and comfort during this unimaginable time.
