Indiana Women’s Basketball Lands Virginia Transfer Forward Edessa Noyan

The Indiana University women’s basketball team has secured its fourth transfer portal commitment with the addition of Edessa Noyan, a 6-foot-3 forward from the University of Virginia. Noyan brings a wealth of experience and skill to the Hoosiers, having played in 26 games and started 23 of them in the previous season.

Noyan’s Background and Stats

Noyan, a native of Botkyrka, Sweden, averaged 5.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game in 25.3 minutes of playtime last season. She shot 40.7% from the field, 32.8% from 3-point range, and 88.2% from the free-throw line. In her two seasons at Virginia, Noyan posted 4.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Impact on Indiana University

Noyan joins an impressive transfer class consisting of former Arkansas guard Phoenix Stotijn, former Alabama guard Chloe Spreen, and former UCLA forward Zania Socka-Ngueman. With two seasons of eligibility remaining, Noyan is expected to make an immediate impact on the team. Her height and versatility will be valuable assets in the Hoosiers’ lineup, particularly with the loss of starting forward Karoline Striplin and guard Chloe Moore-McNeil due to graduation.
