April 17, 2025 – In what promises to be one of the most intense and unpredictable thrillers of the year, Brandon Sklenar and Michele Morrone are stepping far outside their comfort zones to portray characters they describe as unhinged and weirdos. The upcoming psychological thriller, tentatively titled The Glass Veil, is already generating buzz for its dark tone, twisted characters, and mind-bending narrative and much of that energy comes from the two leading men.
Sklenar, best known for his emotionally grounded role in 1923, and Morrone, the brooding heartthrob from the 365 Days film series, are flipping their established screen personas on their heads. In this film, they portray two deeply flawed, mentally fractured individuals whose paths collide in violent and unexpected ways.
“These characters are not just morally grey they’re practically off the map,” Sklenar said in a recent interview. “It’s the kind of role that makes you question your own instincts, and that’s what drew me in. He’s unhinged in a way that’s scary but also painfully human.”
Morrone echoed the sentiment, adding, “This was unlike anything I’ve done before. My character is manipulative, unpredictable, and at times, completely deranged. We’re talking full weirdo mode here, and I loved every second of it.”
Directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Elena Corvo, *The Glass Veil* explores the crumbling psychological walls between two men bound by a dark secret and a twisted power dynamic. The story unfolds through nonlinear timelines and blurred realities, drawing comparisons to films like *Nightcrawler* and *Prisoners*.
Corvo says casting Sklenar and Morrone was essential to pulling off the film’s emotional chaos. “Brandon has this raw vulnerability beneath the rage, and Michele can switch from charm to menace in a second,” she explained. “They were fearless.”
Behind the scenes, both actors committed to immersive preparation. Sklenar reportedly spent weeks working with a psychologist to understand dissociative behavior, while Morrone isolated himself for days at a time to tap into his character’s paranoia and instability.
Though details of the plot remain tightly under wraps, insiders suggest the film may debut at this year’s Venice Film Festival. Until then, fans can only imagine just how “weird” and “unhinged” things are going to get.
And if Sklenar and Morrone’s words are anything to go by, it’s going to be a wild ride.
