Heart Breaking: Nine (9) Canadiens juniors involve in a Bus Accident that Claim 5 lives many injured, Emergency Responders Identify 4 Canadiens juniors Affected with……

Tragedy struck the Canadian junior hockey community last night after a team bus carrying members of a Canadiens-affiliated junior hockey team was involved in a devastating highway accident. The crash, which occurred just outside Trois-Rivières, claimed the lives of five individuals and left many others injured, including several young athletes.

Authorities confirmed that nine players from the Canadiens junior program were aboard the bus when it collided with a transport truck on Highway 55 during heavy rain and poor visibility conditions.

Emergency responders worked through the night to stabilize the scene and transport the injured to nearby hospitals. As of this morning, four of the junior players have been officially identified as among the injured:

  • Marc-André Bouchard (18) – forward, sustained a fractured collarbone and concussion

  • Jules Tremblay (17) – defenseman, listed in serious but stable condition with internal injuries

  • Eliot Deschamps (18) – goalie, treated for a broken arm and minor head trauma

  • Noah Gagnon (16) – winger, suffered multiple lacerations and a sprained ankle

The identities of the deceased have not yet been publicly released, pending notification of next of kin. Authorities have indicated that at least one of the fatalities is a member of the coaching or support staff.

“This is an unspeakable loss,” said Canadiens development coach Patrick Lemieux in an emotional statement. “Our hearts are with the families of those who have lost loved ones, and our full support is with the injured players as they begin the road to recovery.”

Grief counselors have been made available to the team, their families, and students at the affiliated schools. Local communities, including fans and other hockey clubs across Canada, have already begun organizing vigils and support drives for the victims.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway. Preliminary reports suggest the team bus may have hydroplaned before colliding with the transport truck, but officials say it’s too early to determine the exact cause.

The Canadiens organization and the junior league have both issued statements postponing upcoming games and events as the community grapples with this heartbreaking loss.
