Investigation Officer DCI James Rowley, who is leading the case, described the scene as “deeply tragic.” He stated, “The corpse was found unresponsive by a passerby around 5:45 AM. At this time, we are treating the death as unexplained. We are currently working to identify the deceased and determine the circumstances that led to this unfortunate event.”
The area has been cordoned off as forensic teams conduct a thorough examination. Locals have expressed their shock, with many saying such incidents are rare in the normally quiet neighborhood.
“We heard sirens, and then the street was blocked off. It’s scary… you don’t expect something like this to happen here,” said one resident who asked not to be named.
Authorities are appealing to anyone with information or who may have been in the area during the early hours to come forward. CCTV footage from nearby homes and businesses is being collected to assist with the investigation.
